Terms of service

Last updated 24 October 2026.

What this covers

These terms cover the hosted service at app.runtapp.com. The tapp software itself is open source under the MIT licence and you may run it yourself under that licence instead; nothing here restricts that.

What tapp does

tapp opens web pages in a browser we run, looks at them, and reports what it finds. Signed in, it will also click, type, and sign in to applications using test accounts you give it, and replay journeys you keep.

Only point it at applications you are allowed to test

This is the one rule that matters. By starting a run you confirm you own the application, or have permission from whoever does, to have an automated browser visit and interact with it.

Without an account, tapp only ever reads a site: it never presses, types or submits. Signing in is what unlocks clicking, which is why clicking requires an account.

Your account

Test accounts

Give tapp test credentials, never real customer ones, and never an account with more access than the test needs. We store them encrypted and use them only to sign in to the site you named, but you remain responsible for what those accounts can reach.

What tapp does not promise

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Ending it

You can stop using tapp and ask us to delete your account at any time (hello@runtapp.com). We may suspend an account that is using tapp against systems it has no right to touch, or in a way that damages the service for others.

Changes

If these terms change, the date above changes. Continuing to use the service after that means the new terms apply.
